Holt School of Fine Art Davidson

Holt School of Fine Art offers an exceptional summer camp experience for young artists ages 7-18, featuring three specialized programs held across multiple Charlotte-area locations (Davidson, Oakhurst, and Pineville). Each program runs for one week during July 2025 with morning sessions from 9am-noon, five days per week. The Mixed Media Camp (July 13-17, ages 8-13) introduces students to diverse artistic techniques and materials, while the Pet Portraits Camp (July 20-24, ages 7-12) allows young Holt School of Fine Art offers an exceptional summer camp experience for young artists ages 7-18, featuring three specialized programs held across multiple Charlotte-area locations (Davidson, Oakhurst, and Pineville). The Mixed Media Camp (July 13-17, ages 8-13) introduces students to diverse artistic techniques and materials, while the Pet Portraits Camp (July 20-24, ages 7-12) allows young artists to create beautiful artwork featuring their beloved pets or dream pets using drawing and pastel techniques. For more advanced students, the Paint Out at Sedgefield Park program (July 6-10, ages 10-18) offers an immersive outdoor oil painting experience in a natural park setting, requiring prior oil painting experience. All programs are taught by professional artists and trained instructors with degrees in art or pursuing degrees in art, maintaining an excellent 1:7 teacher-to-student ratio. Classes are held in traditional artist studios where each student works at their own easel or drawing horse, fostering an authentic creative environment. The school has earned Charlotte Magazine’s prestigious ‘Best of the Best Art Studio’ award for five consecutive years (2021-2025), reflecting its commitment to excellence in art education. Students develop technical skills in drawing and painting while being encouraged to explore creative choices and discover their own unique artistic voice.
