Hands Create Fine Arts Studio offers vibrant, theme-based summer camps for children ages 5-12 (and teens up to 12th grade) running weekly from June through August 2025. Led by nationally award-winning artist and educator Joann McDaniel with 30+ years of professional fine art experience, these camps blend hands-on artistic instruction with art history education. Each week features a different creative theme—from “Into the Woods” exploring forest-inspired fiber arts and printmaking, to “Castaway CHands Create Fine Arts Studio offers vibrant, theme-based summer camps for children ages 5-12 (and teens up to 12th grade) running weekly from June through August 2025. Each week features a different creative theme—from “Into the Woods” exploring forest-inspired fiber arts and printmaking, to “Castaway Creations” celebrating ocean and maritime art, “Animals in Art” studying how creatures inspire artists across cultures, and “Big Top Art Circus” bringing whimsy and bold patterns to life. Campers work across diverse mediums including painting, drawing, clay, sculpture, paper mâché, printmaking, collage, and mixed media, creating both 2D and 3D masterpieces inspired by famous artists and global art traditions.\n\nThe camp offers flexible scheduling to accommodate different age groups and family needs. Younger campers (Rising K-2nd grade) attend 4-day sessions (Monday-Thursday) from 8:30am-12:30pm, while elementary-aged children (Rising 1st-6th grade) participate in full 5-day sessions from 8:30am-12:30pm. Tween and teen campers (Rising 6th-12th grade) enjoy afternoon sessions from 2:00pm-5:00pm, allowing for morning flexibility. All supplies are included in the program cost, and the beautiful, bright studio space at The Arboretum Shopping Center in South Charlotte provides an inspiring creative environment. Special weeks include STEAM-focused programming taught by certified instructors, studio-style camps for older students exploring advanced techniques like printmaking and sculpture, and age-appropriate themed weeks designed to spark imagination and build artistic confidence.

Cost:
$320-350/week depending on age group (Younger camp K-2nd: $320/week; Elementary: $350/week; Tween/Teen: $325/week). All supplies included. Payment structure: $75 deposit with balance due at registration.
