About This Camp

Camp CARE (Cancer Ain’t Really the End) is a specialized medical camp serving children who have or have had cancer and their siblings in the Charlotte area. This unique program offers both a weeklong residential summer camp and year-round activities called Camp CARE Connections, all designed to provide normal camp experiences under 24/7 medical supervision by healthcare professionals. The camp creates a safe, supportive environment where children at all stages of their cancer treatment journey can participate in fun activities alongside their siblings and other families facing similar challenges. What makes Camp CARE truly exceptional is that all programs are completely free of charge to families, despite camp expenses exceeding $500 per child. The organization serves more than 200 campers and their families each year, offering everything from traditional camp activities like swimming and arts & crafts to unique experiences like circus performances and ice skating. Through both summer camp and year-round programming, Camp CARE provides ongoing support and community for families navigating childhood cancer, ensuring that children can simply be kids while receiving the specialized care they need.
