Camp CARE (Cancer Ain’t Really the End) is a specialized medical camp serving children who have or have had cancer and their families in the Charlotte area. This extraordinary program provides both a weeklong residential summer camp and year-round activities through their Camp CARE Connections program, creating a supportive community for families navigating cancer journeys. The camp serves more than 200 campers and their families each year, welcoming children at all stages of their treatment journey. Staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers including medical professionals, Camp CARE ensures that every child can participate safely in traditional camp activities like swimming, arts & crafts, talent shows, and exciting adventures like tubing and ice skating. Most remarkably, all programs are provided completely free of charge to families, with the organization covering expenses that exceed $500 per child through generous donations.
