The program features the WEE Learn Christian-based curriculum, which emphasizes center-based and theme-based teaching methods that help children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The regular school year program runs from September through May (beginning the Tuesday after Labor Day and ending the Thursday before Memorial Day), with classes meeting 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday through Thursday. The preschool follows the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) calendar for holidays and teacher workdays.
In addition to the regular school year program, MCPCP offers summer camps in June for ages 2½ to rising kindergartners, providing continuity of care and learning during the summer months. The facility boasts experienced, highly trained staff with many certified teachers, all of whom are CPR and First Aid certified. With low student-to-teacher ratios and a commitment to safety (including video monitoring and locked doors), parents can trust their children are in capable, caring hands. The on-campus children’s library, indoor and outdoor play areas, and specialized facilities for younger children (including changing tables and bathroom accommodations) create a comprehensive learning environment.
Throughout the year, MCPCP enriches the learning experience with special events and activities including field trips, the Fall Festival (featuring a petting zoo, hayrides, and pumpkin patch), Spring Fling field days, weekly Children’s Church services, Scholastic Book Fairs, community helper visits (fire truck, police car, dental hygienist), and performances by the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. Pre-K students enjoy monthly Terrific Tuesdays celebrations and a formal graduation ceremony, while all classes benefit from regular library visits and interactive learning experiences.
