U.S. National Whitewater Center offers an exceptional range of week-long summer camps running June through August, designed for children ages 4-17 with specialized programs tailored to different age groups and interests. All programs operate on a consistent daily schedule with drop-off from 7:30-8:30am, morning activities from 8:30am-12:30pm, lunch from 12:30-1:00pm, afternoon activities from 1:00-4:00pm, and pick-up from 4:00-5:00pm. The camp is strategically located at the U.S. National Whitewater Center with access to world-class facilities including whitewater rapids, climbing walls, mountain biking trails, and 1,300 acres of outdoor space. Educational sessions are carefully designed to correlate with curriculum standards for North Carolina and South Carolina schools, making these camps both fun and academically enriching.
With counselor ratios ranging from 4:1 to 10:1 depending on the program, lunch provided daily, and programs available during teacher work days and school holidays throughout the year, U.S. National Whitewater Center provides flexible, high-quality adventure education for families seeking meaningful outdoor experiences combined with skill development and STEAM learning.
