We Rock Charlotte offers an innovative summer rock camp experience that goes far beyond traditional music education. In just one intensive week, campers form bands, write original songs, and participate in workshops that blend musical exploration with social justice education and allyship building. The program creates a safe, inclusive space where campers can explore and affirm their identities across all genders, races, ethnicities, socio-economic levels, and abilities while learning to play in We Rock Charlotte offers an innovative summer rock camp experience that goes far beyond traditional music education. The camp culminates in live concert performances that showcase each band’s original compositions, with kids performing at UNCC’s Dubois Center and teens taking the stage at the trendy Heist Brewery at Camp North End. No musical experience is required – many campers pick up an instrument for the first time at camp. With sliding scale tuition and scholarship opportunities, We Rock Charlotte ensures that financial barriers don’t prevent any young person from participating in this transformative musical and personal growth experience.
